Dental Practice Accreditation
Dr Christopher Hart is pleased to announce that we have recently been awarded full accreditation against the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS). NSQHS are specific guidelines that are outlined on behalf of the Government by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care. They are developed in association with the Australian Dental Association with the aim to protect the patient’s health by enforcing the highest possible level of safe practice.
What is practice accreditation?
Practice accreditation is an independent review that tests whether a dental practice is able to meet the criteria set for that industry. Currently, accreditation is voluntary and most dental practices in Australia aren’t accredited due to the high cost, time and difficulty in achieving the high standards required.
What does it mean to be an accredited dental practice?
By choosing an accredited dental practice, you know that you are receiving treatment that is in line with the highest national standards of care. This involves establishing a “culture of quality and patient safety”, as well as actively reducing risks both clinically and throughout the practice in general. All staff have received the necessary education and training to make this possible, and the practice as a whole is dedicated to constantly re-evaluating and improving upon this high standard.
